Adapted from Edward Reynolds:

All thing are vain
In comparison to God
Jointly
Separately
Because they have been subjected to futility through the sin of man.
Because they cannot bring happiness due to their instability, impermanence, and weakness- they are not fit companions to the greatness of the human as God’s image.
There falseness and deceit: they constantly appear to the eye unaided by grace and faith to be able to bring happiness.
