Mark Dever, himself a PhD historian (Cambridge, studied the life of Richard Sibbes), has given a brief history of the influence of Calvinism among North American evangelical Christians. He lists out 12 influences: Reprint of Spurgeon’s sermons, Martyn Lloyd-Jones, Banner of Truth, evangelism explosion, the inerrancy controversy, PCA, Packer, Sproul & MacArthur, John Piper, reformed rap, parachurch institutions, the decline of Christian nomialism.
